Hi all! Its my first post on this forum and want to know the benefits of a 16t front sprocket on my 2010 R1. Its already had the clutch mod and been ecu flashed which makes it loads better than it was!
Will the 16t make it even smoother around town at slower speeds. Ive read mixed reviews on this but still not sure.
Cheers
Chris.

hi, welcome to the forum.
I don't know about smoother, but will make the beast a lot more fun :D
And don't forget you can have the ecu re-flashed to re-calibrate the speedo.

Cool. Yeah been riding for 20 odd years and had lots of bikes including off roaders, naked styles, 600 sports etc... But more importantly im on my 4th R1! Tried out a few 1000's now but just love these. Ive owned a 98, 2001, 2003 and now i ride this one and love it! ImageImageImage

well my maths aren't great, but if you go from 17 to 16 teeth then at 160mph the speedo will read 170mph, 80mph will read 85mph and so on...or there abouts.

Nothing wrong with your maths! That's an easy way to figure out the effect of a gearing change without reaching for the calculator.

Yes, less clutch slip required when riding slowly.
