New member - SW England
Hi all, new member to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm in the military, currently deployed abroad and will be looking to buy my first R1 with the money I save when I return. Currently ride a GSXR 600 (boo yes I know) and been researching all the litre bikes, finally settling on an R1! Big car and bike fan, member of a few other forums and hoping to be pretty active on here once I get my bike, at the very least spanking my wages on parts and trackdays! Located in SW England so sure they'll be plenty of others about, seen a few R1s near where I live as well so maybe some members on here? Cheers, O

Thanks all. I am going to look at 07 4C8 in a few weeks when I'm back on RnR, it's got the red and white fairings, lots of carbon goodies, a mivv exhaust and decat, just over 13k and plenty of other goodies. Pretty much the exact spec I've been after at a price I can't argue. Plans once I've got the bike are braided lines and then hit some trackdays, as most of the parts I was after are already fitted!
I've seen this colour scheme with white wheels, bar the obvious cleaning issues what are people's thoughts on them?

from what i've heard a sorted 4c8 can be a lot of fun - the red/white ones aren't quite as fast as the blue ones
& white wheels it's personal choice m8 (not for me tho
)

Sounds a honey. White wheels Nooo for me. Although wouldn't say a bit Essex. That's gold[emoji37]. Seems to sneak its way on to a lot of R's. All personal choice. On the technical, performance side however I agree it'll never be quite as quick as a blue one mate! [emoji849]

Welcome to the forum mate and good luck in finding your perfect 4c8, don't listen to the guys regarding blue bikes are faster, we all know it's the red ones, in fact I once made this joke at work only to be told by the office know it all that indeed red car said and bikes are fastest due to the paint pigmentation and Howe that reacts with the light, ok I said, doe sthat mean blue bikes are faster in the dark? Oh and why can Concorde, yes she was flying at the time, only fly supersonic when she was painted white ...... he didn't have an answer fir that
Anyway welcome to the mad house

Blue's the slowest colour everybody knows that , blacks the fastest , white wheels are from essex to go with the patent white leather stilettos & gold wheels go with any colour bikeHorus-222_R1 wrote:Other than they won't be quite as quick as blue ones - Essex boyjompy wrote:Nothing wrong with gold wheelsHorus-222_R1 wrote:Sounds a honey. Born and bread Essex (old)boy and can confirm most of us are dripping in all things gold - fake maybe but no doubting the colour. From what I've heard the red and blue bikes are just as fast, but it's the larger testicles of red riders that helps them get more weight over and lean further..
Point taken about the white wheels, my missus is from Essex so I'm sure she'll be disappointed
Looking forward to getting back from this dump and getting back on the road!
