Another New member from Scotland

Hi guys

Looking at buying a new R1 (60th Anniversary edition) in the next few weeks so no doubt I'll have a few questions later on.

About myself, staying south of Glasgow towards the Scottish Borders so have plenty of good roads nearby.

Currently just sold my 2010 Blade, and also have a 2009 Blade track bike.

Bike history started with a Gixxer 600 K8 then moved onto the 2010 which I owned from new. Had a few other bikes at the same time including a Honda SP1 which I sold to a mate a year ago or so. Still miss that bike. Also had a Honda Blackbird for taking the missus away on long weekend tours.

Anyway enough about me for now.

Really can't say that would be a bad choice to get myself:)
Welcome in.

Welcome from another Colin from Scotland. The 60th is a lovely bike. Where would you be buying from?

Moffat is my usual stopping point midway through my usual run out on the bike. Great place to base yourself for a decent days riding.

I've had a couple of quotes for the new R1. 1 local to my work up in Aberdeen and another from a mate from another forum who works in a Yamaha/Honda dealership. It'll come down to who's wanting my business more I suppose.

Decided to leave buying the new bike till next year, as it'll just bay laying in the garage till March at the earliest.

If I bougt it now, I'd end up just buying a load of bits for the bike that it doesn't even need. (Trust me I've been down that road big time)

Welcome in!

Some good roads in the Borders, and into Englandshire. :D

I'm down in Melrose, and roads are good in all directions.

The 60 Anniversary certainly lifts what is a fairly ordinary look (to my eyes..... :snooty: ) to something special, just like speed block versions before it.

Al

Finally put a deposit down on a bike today to be picked up next weekend.

Bike is completely standard in red (I have a plan to change this up a bit) and I've ordered up the Akra slipon already. Was going to get the link pipe but don't like the look of the bike without the exhaust infil panels, (looks like it's missing something down there when you take off the cat).

What tail tidy options do you guys recommend as that's the next thing on my list of to do's?

Welcome mate, I'm from around your area and have also recently got a 2016 R1. You won't regret it having had a blade myself amongst others.
