Hi guys i have joined on here as a new owner of an r1. Cannot put what model i have as it is a 2000 front end and a complete 2005 rear end.
I need some advic2 from you yamaha nuts.....my bike currently has supercorsas on it and if you have had them before then you know yourself that they are horrid tyres when the road is damp. Now i use my bike to commute aswell as have fun so rather than get rid of the tyres completely i would rather get another set of rims with different tyres.
So my question is do you know if i can fit a 2000 rear wheel on a 2005 swing arm?
My bike has an 05 swing arm with wheel aswell as sprocket carrier.

Welcome to the forum Trev, unfortunately fir you the mechanical numpty is the first to reply, the knowledgable guys will be on later and they will be able to answer your question. In the mean time, welcome to the forum, tell us a bit about your biking history, what bones you have had, what you liked about them and what wasn't so good. We like to get to know new members and this is a way for us to get to know you and vice Versa. Sorry I can't answer your questions but the guys on here know why..... I'm completely useless when it comes to mechanics..... sorry...
Anyway welcome to the forum

Hi mate. Sorry can't answer your question but know exactly what you are saying about the Super Corsas. Thought it would be a good idea to get these tyres as I was doing a few track days, great on a dry track but crap on a damp road so ended up doing very few miles on the bike this year.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
You CAN tell us what model you have, just tell us what the bit in the middle is
Obviously this won't help with your tyre issue though.
Dave.

Welcome in Trev
I know you can fit a 2005 wheel in a 2000 swinger using new spacers so logic says it can be done the other way round , Alex_h had 5 spokes in his 4xv . You may be better of with Michelin pilot road 2's , 3's or 4's for damp/wet weather and as Pete says your model of bike will be what frame it has I.e. the middle bit
