Newbie for Northern Ireland!

Hello!
I'm Gavin, just new to the forum. I have had the love for Yamaha "R"s since around 2000 when my older brother bought a 98' Red/White R1. When I was about 12 or 13 he took me to the NW200 & Ulster Grand Prix on it and I was hooked on motorbikes from that day, also the fact that David Jefferies has the V&M R1. Fast forward a few years and when I got the time and money I passed my bike test and bought a 2001 R6 (5MT) with 7500 miles on the clock and had barely seen daylight. I am hoping to keep the bike because in my eyes it is too clean for me to let go and maybe regret selling it.
In the next year or so I am planning to get the model of r1 my brother had to hopefully have as a project to bring back to showroom condition. So glad I found a forum like this.
Thanks
Gavin

Welcome in mate, good luck with finding the dream bike, they are becoming rarer now, especially in the colour you're after

Welcome in Gavin
If your after a 4xv i should get it now because prices for a £3500 bike are getting ridiculous !
One of the lads on here worked on t David Jefferies bike for V&M .

Hi Gavin and welcome to the forum. Definitely worth hanging into your R6 if you can, unmolested ones are getting harder to find, same with the R1's as Jompy says [emoji106]

Yankeezulufoxtrot what a place it is for the motorbike. On a sunny Sunday Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush are the places to be on your bike

Welcome in mate and enjoy the forum.
Posting pics - the smart phone's the easiest from the tapatalk app for sure. Follow Jompy's guide here (think it's still the way) if you prefer from a PC.
"get yourself a free photobucket account & follow the idiots guide to posting pics from your pc
if you don't want to open a photobucket account then an alternative is go to
http://tinypic.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
1 - "choose file" and browse to the image you wish to upload from your PC
2 - In the "resize" drop down choose either 15" or 17" screen (15 is enough and fast too)
3 - Press "upload now" where it will ask you to type in a couple of words to confirm you are a human being and not an automated program.
4 - Once done copy the text from the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" field
5 - Then just paste it exactly as is in to your message.
or you can post direct from your not so smart phone using tapawank (tapatalk) it's great for posting pic's & notifications but wank for viewing the forum

Haha. I'll try my best, last year was pretty good weather wise. I usually go up for the practices on the bike, then the family go with me for the Saturday. Great day out!

Hi Gavin, welcome to the forum and thank you for a great opening thread [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]
Must admit I loved my R6 and I still regret selling her , she was a cracking bike.
Good luck in your hunt for your perfect R1
Welcome
