Hi Guys,

I`m Andreas from Estonia, I ride a 06-07 mix-up R1. Bike has some issues, so I hope I will find some helpful info from some more experienced mechanic.

Best Regards.

Where to begin.
I bought it in september, last year.
As far as I know, it has:
2006 frame, speedometer.
2007 wiring, ECU and engine.
It has Carbon-like fairings as shown on pictures.
Engine and Tune-up wise it should be pretty much oem.

Just today I received o2 sensor what was missing, Also I am having ER-4 error code what seems to be on because of the different production years of ECU and Speedometer. And so, if someone knows how to delete error codes without entering diagnostic mode, it would be perfect (can`t enter Diag, mode).

So. I got the diag. mode to work. But still after clearing errors, o2 sensor error (error 24) still there. Tried both, with o2 sensor and o2 elliminator connected but still shows error and cant clear. Anybody got some ideas?
Should o2 sensor show some resistance when cold and disconnected from exhaust?

Sorry, I had total brain fade when I first answered this. They generate a voltage which depends on the oxygen level in the exhaust. But they have to be heated to about 300° C before they work, either but the exhaust gases (2 wire), or by a built in heater (4 wire).

I expect there's a diagnostic procedure in the manual?

I've tested plenty of car O2 sensors but never tested a bike one, but if it's a two wire one, then you could test the voltage from the signal wire when at normal operating temperature.
For a car you keep the revs at about 2K, so maybe try a little higher for a bike.
Have the sensor plugged in and backprobe the connection. If they work the same as car ones, then you should see the voltage fluctuate somewhere between zero and one volt, cycling up and down approximately once every second. The other wire should be the earth, if you get a good signal then this also tells you the earth is OK.
Best tested with an oscilloscope, but not everyone has one of these in the garage :) , but you may get a rough idea with a multimeter...possibly.

All this is assuming it's a two wire and has the same parameters as a car one.

Boooom... Check engine light is gone.
Now the fuel map is still a bit off. Bike still struggles on cold engine start and when I let go of the throttle it start to bang on exhaust. So I think the mixture is off. Should I compensate it with Power Commander? Went to My local ECU guy, He told that its not worth to remap OEM ECU on dyno. So I think the best way should be to add PC to make the fuel map correct and make the bike run smoothly again.

Any recommendations?

Regards!

Are you sure the Dyno guy knows you have a 4c8 engine and ECU ?
A 5vy can be flashed you can only get the same results as using a power commander where as flashing a 4c8 the difference can be massive !

Should 2007 R1 have Ambient temperature sensor? I have an option on my dash but it shows numbers that are clearly wrong.
