Hey guys, so I just joined having just pulled the trigger on a 16 R1M to replace my pánigale R track bike. Picking her up in a week or so and very excited to try her out on the ride back home to Barcelona. Am from Glasgow originally but screw the cold and rain.
Have the full akra system on the way already, I suspect next steps will be an mwr filter and Remap, then some brembo m50s as I'm led to believe the standard brakes can drop off a bit.
Looking forward to learning a out this weird 4 cylinders concept lol.

Welcome to the forum Stewart , you won't be disappointed with your M, however as Jompy said they can be a tad offensively loud when decatted
Welcome

Cheers! Do my best to get the day off!
Been riding ducatis for a decade now, am used to offensively loud, but the crossplane sound is something spine chilling

Can't wait!
Given that I don't have the R1M yet.... are non Yamaha pics allowed in the trackday gallery ? hehehe

Welcome mate, we stay out in Spain for about 4 months a year about 40 minutes south of Alicante and stay in Dumbarton the rest of the time (when not working) if you're now that way and we're over let me know and might try and meet up. I've got my 1299S out there so would be nice to catch up with someone for a blast. Nice bike by the way

Picked her up Friday in North Wales and rode to Kent in the wind raín and traffic to drop her off at Chas Mortimer for transport to barcelona, it the best first ride given the conditions and nose to tail traffic but suffice to say am happy with the purchase. Won't see her again til mid August now, by which time the exhaust should have arrived! Now to look at an ftec and Blipper!
