Just a quick post to say hi. Bought an r1, waiting on itv first before it is ready to ride, thought I would introduce myself before shamelessly stealing all the info stored here.
Will add a photo when I know how to.
Ta, arfur

Well that kind of works.
Shows my bike, trying to trace the previous owners to see what was going through their minds as far as paint goes and to see if they want the painted parts back before I have them painted over.

So if anybody recognises it, let me know.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

What were they thinking with the whole bike? Polished, painted, wait, was this on an episode of "Pimp My Ride"?

Come on now Clarky, you know jompy, he likes them strong, old and naked.

Welcome to the forum Arfur , that's a bright colour scheme your bike has, if you want to join Jompy's bezzie mates club you will have to fit a top box, Jompy loves them....

Congratulations on getting your R1, at the end of the day a bike is a bike, and we all love bikes on here, join in the banter and laugh along with us

Welcome

Thanks guys, a very nice welcome.
Yes that paint eh? I do want to try and track the person responsible as I believe it was a tribute to somebody. It was originally an English bike, probably from the greater Manchester area.
It's going one way or another but would be a shame to paint over.

Thats a nice gesture if you to want to track the previous owners. There is a forum called 'mancriders' for the Manchester area that might be worth a post on??

Thanks, I will. It would be nice to reunite it, it has clearly took many many hours to do. It's really well done, even if it's not to my taste.

I now know it was Aidies Paint Shack in Selby that did it. A quick Google turned up nothing. Anybody know aidie?

Did you get anywhere with tracing the previous owner?
