Hi,
I'm a rider of a 17k mile 5jj in Haga type colours.
I live across the road and within sight of the B6479 in Settle. This is often voted as one of the uk's best roads. It starts in Settle and goes up towards the Ribblehead viaduct. Turn right here and you are in God's own motorcycle playground of the B6255 - Hawes road.
Both these roads are often voted the best in the UK. Although I don't necessarily agree, I still feel blessed.
MOT just completed, Taxed it yesterday, new tyres going on for the summer...roll out the sun and I'll see you in the market square at the weekends...just be careful of the new speed camera vans and the unmarked copper motorbike. Last year he was on an old blade. He travels alone and has black leathers with a white helmet...very inconspicuous.
Kev.

I do keep a 125 scooter as well, but nah, only one big bike at a time.
The list of bikes owned is extensive but always inexpensive...this R1 being the nicest thing I have owned for a few years.
Photos will follow once I have worked it out.

Oh I don't go fast enough to take off although knowing the road better that the odd visitor is often fun...I once overtook an R6 on my scooter - passed him around the outside on a bend. Needless to say, he passed me convincingly on the straight only to be caught at the next corner. And so on, and so on for 12 miles!
I have never laughed so much inside my helmet.

Shame I'm busy today, I would have caught up with you.
You have a good day for it. Take it easy on those blind bends.

There are two take off points on the road, one is on a long straight before you get to Ribblehead the other about a mile out of Hawes...this one gets everybody who's trying but doesn't know the road well. A blind crest that looks like nothing, but the road disappears from under you and traditionally you land with a thump (1st time anyway)

Put one on now, along with an easy challenge. Spot the difference.
