Just joined I have a 4xv and a 5vy race bike that was used in BSB superstock.

I am just putting the 4 xv back on the road after sitting in the garage for 3 years.
Have a problem with the rev counter showing the fault Code which indicates the fuel level sensor. I. Have replaced it with a new one and checked the wiring to the console and it all looks fine. The rev counter is still showing the same fault has anyone else seen this before.

Thanks Paul

Welcome in Paul
First question is have you definitely plugged the fuel sender in as you put the tank on , second question is are you sure it's a fault code as the solder on the circuit boards gets brittle , cracks and breaks the contact .
Hope you enjoy the forum and we need pics :)

Hi Paul,

Have you checked the connections for corrosion or damaged pins?

Welcome Paul, good to have another 4xv owner join.

The power for the sender actually comes from the ECU. You could check for a voltage at the connector to the sender under the tank, then trace it back to the ECU if it's not there. There should be a sticky with a link to the service manual, or I can send you a colour diagram if you PM me your email address.

Hi Paul and welcome, recent 4xv owner myself

Good advice so far i would do as Moise and No expert suggested and. Then if all okay you are probably looking at what jompy suggested - remove the clocks and check for damaged circuit board/solder

Welcome to the forum, what the 4xv owners on here don't know about a 4xv isn't worth knowing , hope you get the fault sorted soon.
