Welcome in John
You may have to ask around a little , i know a few of the lads have restored these but the parts are getting a bit scarse and people are hanging on to them .
Plenty of info about the 4xv on here too , hope you enjoy the forum and good luck finding your bits , but don't loose your sanity while you're here

Welcome to the forum John, good luck in finding the parts you need.
Those red 4XVโs are very special indeed.
We are more of a biking community on here, rather than a forum, we have a good laugh, mostly at the chimp, Julia, Clarky and me[emoji849] for some strange reason.
Join in the banter, ask any questions you like, quite a few of the guys are experts on the 4XV and what they donโt know isnโt worth knowing.
Welcome

Welcome to the forum, which is even crazier than usual!
Tank infill shouldn't be too hard but good luck finding a red seat in good condition. Maybe get a black one re-covered?

I would have a slow trawl through dvla website, everything you need to know should be there [emoji106]

If i remember correctly if it has no paper work you have to have had the vehicle for 6 months then contact the DVLA who contact the previous owner , how it originating from Ireland will affect it and i'm just going on what i've heard banded about , you may have to contact yamaha as well .
Good luck with the DVLA but it'll worth it

Yes very good luck getting something from the DVLA it took me four attempts to correct an error on my V5, every time I contacted them ... we havenโt received your letter.... even though I sent it registered post..
Only got a result on the 4th attempt because when they said we havenโt received it I asked, how have you cashed the cheque then... that was followed by silence..
So donโt give up with them, keep pestering them until you get it sorted
Very good luck [emoji1303][emoji4]

Just had a quick look on dvla website- if the vehicles already been imported you just have to fill in some paperwork applying for new rego document

A good clean up and hopefully that white connector should be ok , if not there's a company that makes replacements
