hello all
i'm not new to the forum but i've not posted before.
been reading posts while i was toying with the idea of getting an r1.
so last week i finaly took the plunge and sold my 2013 zx10 and bought a 2018 r1.
i only ride on track so i'll most likely be asking stupid questions (apologies in advance) about set up and all things track related.
so first ride on the r1 will be at oulton park on tuesday if its dry, (i've got an r6 for wet track days)
so thats about it for now from sunny stoke-on-trent

Welcome to the forum Dave, you won’t be disappointed with your R1. Oulton Park is my favourite track, enjoy Tuesday. Unfortunately spectators aren’t allowed [emoji20] I tried to watch a track day there the other week but was turned away ...

thanks for the welcome
i thought i'd broke the r1 already, i changed it to race shift and ran through the gears on the paddock stand, then the abs and engine management lights came on doh.
took it for a spin around the block and the abs light went off but engine management light stays on.
apparently i need an obd2 fault reader to reset it?
its stuck on the race dash and i can't change the mode, so its stuck in mode 3

Yup, I hadn't realised this was the case with the 2018 onwards, it sucks.
Never run the engine and turn the wheels, even to take the warmers off. Stupid as it is it will throw a code.
You can get a code reader with the correct plug on ebay I believe, if not we sell the ODB2 to Yamaha diagnostics port adapters so you can use it with any odb2 reader.
Sometimes I am glad to have the 2016 and the on board dash diagnostics.
If you are looking for any track parts, FTecu tuning parts, ABS deletes etc then let me know
