Just picked up my 4c8 track bike!!

Hi all
Thought I had better join a forum as I'm bound to pick up a little advice , just picked up an ex r1 cup 4c8 yesterday haven't ridden it yet as I'm gonna give it the once over and make sure all is ok first, this is my second r1 my first was a 5jj track bike which I loved and have missed since I sold it I then had a cbr600rr4 track bike but got bored of the revvy nature!and now gone back to the r1 any advice or any one with any parts just let me know as always after spares! It did come with 16.5 Dymags magnesium wheels but I plan to get rid and stick with standard 17" so if you want a pair just pm me,I will add them to the classified section once they are removed and cleaned up and checked.

Just midway through strip and clean!! Was proper filthy! Quick question does the 4c8 share engine casings with the 5vy?? As I keep finding it stamped on them??

Welcome in m8, lovely track bike you got there, oh they are revvy beasts
Yes the 5VY and 4C8 do share a few parts and the casings are one of those.

I have a few mates in bsb etc who I can get scrubs from but not 16.5 I'm not buying new for the sake of it and I'm not fussed about the Dymags so I may as well sell them and use the standard wheels as they seem great anyway.

I'm in south Lincolnshire never done it before but a mate does tyre support and said try it? I have Monday off so checked a few vids on you tube and it looks awesome one video had a blade doing 170mph on the straight so will give me a chance to stretch its legs proper!

No it's tyres 4 bikes although I do know mark as well

Everyone knows Mark lol. he used to do my tyres when I raced with Derby Phoenix way back when. He nearly caused me to crash
