Hi Guys

Newbie here - been a GSXR man most of my life but this year I've gone to the Yamaha side. Have a FZS1000 road bike and have just purchased a 4C8 R1 red and white.

Sorry no pics at the moment but she's totally standard. I'm currently in the process of building her as a track bike, there probably will be loads of questions if that's ok.

Plan is:

Track body work
Suspension re-worked by Actiforce Racing
De-Cat
Send off the ECU to Velox for a re-flash
Race kit on original mufflers - maybe
Brembo RCS master cylinder
Braided Lines
Rearsets
Put some iridium plugs in
Install my HM quickshifter
Go 1 down/1up on the gearing or possibly 2 up

Bit to do and hopefully as parts turn up i'll be finished by the end of the month. I'll take pics along the way and start a thread on the build. Still trying to source second hand parts at the moment, i'll put up a topic on the wanted forum.

Has anyone installed the A&R race kit on the original exhausts and had them noise tested at a track day?
Secondly, I've been spoilt with access to spark plugs on GSXR's. From what I understand you need to unmount the radiator and access the plugs from the front. Is this pretty straight forward. Just thinking about fitting the HM loom and room to do it.

Cheers and Hi Guys

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum mate, i fitted the A&R race baffles to my standard pipes and i'll be honest with you although i never had them tested i very much doubt the will pass for a track day as they are very loud. They do sound nice though.

Hi Scott,

Welcome in, the 4c8 will make a cracking track day bike.

I have a few bits and pieces that may be of use to you, Gilles rear sets, A&R baffled pipes.

Not sure you should do anything with rear shock other that replace it, they are not the best out there.

Anyway lots of helpful advise on here and some laughs to be had. Enjoy
