				Hi dan,
        That's very brave of you

. The r1 is my second "big" bike. I started off with a 650 and can say with a 100 percent confidence that I would have had a massive high side if I had made the mistake I made riding the 650 on the r1
That said, you have a great bike....enjoy

haha, yeah didn't really want to get a R1 as a first bike. The bike was my dad's and its been stood in the garage for the last 5 years!!! managed to talk my dad into letting me have it as i didn't have cash available to purchase an R6. Been riding for 2 weeks now and really have a feel for the bike. Just taking it steady for now as there are so many clueless drivers about.

Welcome Danny. can not believe you can have an R1 as your first big bike

, hope you ride with much more sense than me

Enjoy the bike and forum.
I trust she was correctly re-commissioned after a 5 year lay up

Welcome in Mate, you are braver man than me. That said closest thing to an R1 when I passed my test was probably a GPZ900R

As others have said just take it easy.
