I have been converted to R1s thru racing endurance in 2012, we had an old 4XV a bit beaten up and well used but alas she died at Hall Bends at Cadwell Park (RIP). Since then I have always wanted an original. I saw this in a local dealers and had to have it.

1998 R reg 4XV 35,000 miles.

The reason for joining Yamahar is so I can get info and bits and advice to make this as original as possible although I think it is fairly close! And historically I have been a Suzuki man so don't know R1s that well.

Welcome mate.

Best looking R1 ever IMO, remember these when I was young & thinking they were the coolest bikes around (in that colour).

A very warm welcome from the cold North East ;)

Not sure if its just my age but the more I look at the 4XV's the more I like them and yours looks lovely. I am sure the more eagle eyed members will assist in your quest, enjoy.

Very very nice, I was after one in that colour but couldn't find one that was in my budget and ticked all the boxes.
Looks pretty spot on, obvious things would be the cut down undertray, some of the stickers, the r1 on the fuel tank being one and then the exhaust.
I'm in the same boat getting everything as it would have been when new and in mint condition
