Newbie from Berks

Hi all, thought I would say hello as I got my first R1 last week, red and white 2007 4c8.
Coming off a RSVR Mille for 3 years the R1 feels so much more focused and so much smoother. My first little 15 minute outing was in drizzle Thursday evening and took a bit of getting used to, but a nice long ride out yesterday was awesome and i'm really loving this bike.
Looking forward to lots of upgrades over the winter.

Have been gutted to discover Yamaha have discontinued the solo seat cowls so struggling to find one, so if anyone has a white one they no longer need, I have money waiting.... ill stick a post in the wanted section too I guess.....

Thanks mate, having a great time reading through all the parts of this forum as only registered this morning, got up early to watch the motogp but got side tracked looking through here.... looks to be lots of great threads and advice.
Definately gilles rear sets next month (6'4 tall so they make a difference), although this bike feels pretty comfortable with standard pegs.
December will be Akras and link pipe to ditch the cat, and DB screen.
Early next year i'll be looking to sort the shock and forks for my weight (seems to be a few TTX's around ebay/gumtree for ok money)

Cheers Jompy -yes it very standard other than HEL Lines..... i'm near Bracknell.....

keeping a beadie little eye on Ebay for the cowl, one was on there last week in white and black, went for £56 + 15 postage which I thought was high, but id bite their hand off for that now realising they are so hard to find...... tks

I managed to pick up a spare cowl for mine on eBay for £16 inclusive of postage last year, it was in spanking new condition too :-)

Its in my lock up somewhere, so will try and find and take a shot. My m8 has a full on factory tractor, he hates my r1 he is on here as well

Oh look at my rebuild thread as them gilles look small on the 4c8, I now have Rizoma 8-)

Cheers Sam, found it on ebay. I don't think yellow was an oem colour in 2007 so I guessing its a Chinese jobbie or he's had it sprayed maybe..... Fingers crossed Pete will come to my rescue with his spare.
Congrats on the new bike, what plans do you have for yours?
