Hi to all the members ! ive Just joined site as I've just bought me first r1!!! Ive had bikes for about 10 yrs and raced last season on a cbr600 but I'm better suited to big bike cos I'm not the lightest ha. Seen peter hickmans old 09/10 bsb bike and new it was for me straight away. Anyway thought his place would be good for advise about the bike etc and picking up spares and what ever else I can get me hands on.

Welcome in Keith
Glad to see you have a fast one, and not a slower 4C8
Have you got any pictures of your bike then ?

Hi Keith, you need to use something like photobucket.com, upload it there and then get the IMG URL and paste it into here it should have [IMG} in front of it and [ / IMG} at the end of it.
I think there is a post on how to do it in the forum rules, announcements section. If not I will do it later.

Cheers bud ill get on it and get uploaded. I seen the URL but never used photo bucket so I think I'll have to do me home work and read that link first.
Thanks for the welcome in gents are most lads/girls in here racers or is there a bit of everything? I came from a Honda cbr racers forum and have been looking to jump into the a Yamaha because the amount of hours I save just buy posting a problem on the other site was amazing. Two minutes you would have a fix or spare part it was invaluable and a good laugh.
I've been told this was a good site to join

There is a good mix of road/trackday plus a couple of racers.
The old forum dissapeared about 6 weeks ago and the owner doesn't seem to want to fix it, so we started this one about 3 weeks ago, most of the regular posters from the now defunct forum are here, they are mostly nice chaps, just look out for Bub..... he has a wee man complex

Yep in the house Alarmed and locked up to the max. It's not just for spares but you can get good advice now again of sites like this especially when like me you do no a lot about the bike. I'm alright with Hondas but not to hot on Yamahas
Any one fitted tc to there bike? I'm thinking about fitting it but haven't spoke or come across any who has yet. For racing.

Bazzaz traction control or similar
Re: Hello!!!!

There is Traction Control coming with the new Flash-Tune Bluetooth interface in the new year, along with data logging, although as you have a YEC ECU and loom that is no good for you, so as mentioned there are other systems like Bazzaz, although they are only rate based TC, so based on the Rev's rising they will retard the ignition to provide the TC.
The Flash-Tune system is a little bit cleverer than the Bazzaz system, using o2 sensor data as well as Rev's to determine a slide and retarding the ignition.
If I were you, and had any money left after buying the beast I would suggest looking at a system that incorporates a speed sensor, this will offer much more accuracy for determining if TC needs to fire on.
With any of these systems though you need tracktime to get an ideal setup, lots of trial and error, possibly at each track you are going to ride/race to take into account different corners where you might want the TC to fire or not (of the slide/spin is what you want at that corner)
Check out
http://competitionsystems.co.uk/product.php?id=183 where they do the system for the R1 09-> as well as other bikes.
Hope that helps.
Mike

Cheers mike looks like a better system than bazzaz.

No Probs Butchos, the Flash-Tune System will be much better than the Bazzaz, and much cheaper than Bazzaz also, but if he has a YEC ECU then there is no need for the Flash-Tune, and for not much more than the bazzaz ZFiTC the Nemisis is a much better unit, there are others, similar price, just can't think who makes them right now, and kids are pestering me to take them out.
