Hi from London

Hi all,

I'm Tom from Woodford Green - I got myself a 2009 R1 (big bang!) back in April last year and absolutely love it; it was my only transport so I commute on it, ride at weekends, track days, you name it, but since I'm so happy with it I decided to get myself a winter hack (Honda XL1000 Varadero) to save it from salty roads and foul weather over the winter! Still get out and about as often as possible when it's dry and bright but looking forward to the spring and some warmer weather!

Safe riding all

Haha well I don't intend to keep the Varadero for that long, only as long as necessary - but I'm ashamed to admit I've enjoyed having the creature comforts during the colder months, when it's pissing down with rain and whenever I need to get any shopping in! I'm thinking of trading it in for a ZZR1300 in the summer ;) You're welcome to come down for the cremation if I don't find a buyer...

Here's a couple of pics of my baby (and me) - I'm not quite sure how I convinced myself to take Thor (yes it's called Thor) to Snetterton - I'm terrified of scratching the bike let alone binning it! Was an incredible experience though - left everything else behind in a cloud of cartoon dust!

On occasions! Been once or twice recently and a few times over the summer but funnily enough even though it's five minutes from my door I'm not often there - no-one else I know lives nearby!

Welcome to the site Tom, beautiful looking 14b glad you like it. Some god lean angles on track but why are you not hanging off.

Re the Mohekan if it floats your boat go fir it. I work with a guy who swathes by them, he says it helps other road users notice him.

Must admit a few years ago work sponsored me to wear dog ears on my lid fir children in need, the R1 sported cat ears on the front and a cat tail between her exhausts, must admit people did seem to notice me more, but I got a very disapiinting shake of the head from a fellow r1 rider at the traffic lights.
