Hi there, this is my first R1, its not new to this forum it was purchased off a member, im just currently putting my own touches to it :D

Not been riding long, first bike Aprilia Rs125, second gixxer k7 600 and now the R1 and still not ridden it yet as its in bits in the workshop :(

Well welcome to the R1 club
4xv's are very well mannered until you hit 8000rpm then they get a tad wild , you'll love the bike it's a lot of bang ( and handling ) for your buck ;)

can anyone recommend an oil for the bike, while the fairings off its a job on the to do list

I think the consensus is firstly to go with what grade its been running with ......... I use motul 300v

Before you change anything on the fork settings read up on what does what and learn a bit about it for yourself. There's a wealth of information on here about suspension and I think you be a wise bloke to use it before taking anybody's advice for gospel before you fully understand it for yourself.

Even if your mate is some suspension guru.
