Hi guys and girls.

New to the forum. Just picked my 2000 R1 last night a nice 400 mile round trip!

I'll get some pics up once we have a bit of sun!

Hi guys thanks for the welcome. I live in Cannock North of Birmingham and collected the bike for Orpington.

Already fitted with damper, suspensions not quite right at the moment. It wasn't handling right at all, the suspension settings were all over the place and the tyre was pressure very low. The preload was nearly all the way out, rebound all the way off and the compression screws are seized. Set everything back to standard apart from the compression and loads better. I'll drop the folks out and replace the oil, that should help this. Then when money become available I'll be tempted to send them off to Maxton for a rebuild.

Donnington I'll be there in the summer. Rude not to. TBA I've only been on the track the once for Ron Haslem race school, the only day in the 3 weeks of summer last year that it Pi@@ed it down!

I've had a couple of other bikes. Started on GP100, RD350ypvs, FZR1000 exup RU, Foxeye FIREBLADE, ZX9R E1 (still in the garage and for sale!) and now the R1.

Exup valve I think I need to check. Switch the ignition on and on the test it squeaks a bit. Time to search the forum for how do guides.

Have at the track day section as the guys are doing donnigton soon , good idea to give the Exup the once over & stripping the Exup has been covered a few times just watch the Exup cover bolts as they can snap
Good luck

That should say " have a look at the . . . . . "

Blue. In opinion the only colour :)

I'll take some photos and upload. Away this weekend so clean and photos next!

Nice clean bike but the ride back Sunday and it's a little grubby.
