Just registered looking at getting a r1 so thought may aswell get on the forum.
I'm Jason I've recently sold my cbr900rr urban tiger was a great bike but thought it was time to move on, would of loved to have kept it but ah well.
Anyway the new bike is going to be either a r1 or a cbr1000rr went and test rode a 2008 r1 on Monday and whoooo, it was awesome really liked it

Yet to have a go on a blade but I think from the write ups etc the r1 seems to be the best.
Was any of you in my situation and test rode both?
Why did you choose the r1..
Anyway I'm off for a nosy

Welcome in jason. Nothing like jumping into the r1 family via yhe 4c8. Renowned for being the most aggressive and powerful, think you will have lots of "fun". From all accounts the blade is a great bike with a super smooth box, although lacking a little "soul". Pick what you feel is best for YOU . Gl

Welcome to the forum Jason.
Out of interest was the 4c8 standard that you tested out cos once you fit a pc3 or have the ECU flashed there is a mahoosive difference

Thanks guys, yeah I've read that from different articles.
Bub: as far as I'm aware all it had was a set of micron cans no other power mods.

Hi m8, yep I tried both, I choose the R1 (4C8) because of the the way it makes you feel when ridding and for the looks, IMO one of the best looking bikes made and with the best underseat rear end ever.
I have now done a lot of mods and to have to say I think this will be my bike for a long time, its just not been bettered enough for me to change.
Good luck with the choice and I hope the "blade" forum doesn't get you
Just showing off but this is mine

A tad over budget though :/
Is it worth waiting though?

Try it mate some love it some have hated it! The engine is more like a V Twin, once you learn its characteristics its great fun and the noise is of the crossplane is phenomenal.
