Hey guy & gals, I'm new to the forum as I have just put a deposit an 03 R1 and am waiting to pick it up. Hoping to learn some more about this awesome looking bike before finally getting it in the garage and having my wicked way with it

Hi tony,
Welcome to the site mate, nice choice if R1, enjoy your new toy. When you pick her up you will need to post some pics cos we all love pics on here. Peeps here are friendly and helpful and loads of banter. There are no stupid questions, except those that are never asked. Peeps on here have loads of tips, advice and if something can go wrong you can bet your bottom dollar that one of us has done it.
So welcome and enjoy your new toy, oh and keep in touch, as I said it's a great site

Pic now attached, been looking for this exact spec and colour for a while. Right can, power commander, Ohlins damper, oh I'm going to have fun. I have taken the leap to a sports after shifting a load of weight and not feeling conscious about riding a sports bike. I took out an 1198, Fireblade, GSXR and the R1, and the R1 ticked every box. Previous bikes have been far more sedate, fizzie, RD125LC, 350YPVS, TDM850, Ducati M750, and now the big plunge to a sportsbike. Expect to be getting SV1000 as well for the longer miles, but the 5PW in my opinion is the best looking of the lot
