Just saying hello :-)
From Westbury Wilts and have got an R6 (had it for three years) and looking to move up ;-)
I've a limited budget (about £5K) so on all the usual sites every day (to be honest, every few hours) lol.

I'm a typical "born again biker" having had a bike for a couple of years as a teenager and then a 35 year gap before doing my DAS four years ago.
Absolutely loving it :-)

Also got a GSXR750 track bike and try to do 6 - 8 days a season, I've never done anything more fun (and frightening).

Hope to get to meet some of you on the road or track.

Gerry

Welcome to the forum Gerry, you have a couple of good bikes there, you should be able to pick up a good r1 fir your budget, they are great bikes and on here we love everything Yamaha. We do have a few firmer GSXR owners on here, Locke fir one who have seen the light and got an R1 it's probably best if they tell you the benefits.

Anyway welcome, post some pics of both your bikes and tell us about the tracks you have ridden.

Welcome :D

I paid 4500 for my 2500 mile 4C8 on an 08 plate last month. Although it's a cat d and an American import. seem to be asking around 5k for a decent 4C8 at the moment. A tatty 14B can be had for 6000 - 6500.

Thanks for the many welcomes folks.
Looking for a 08 ish ideally, not sure about colour (is a bit girly to mention colour) black / gold look ace and Lava red good too, saying that they all look great. Looking forward to having non wonky headlights and a fatter tank to cling on to. I did have a lovely 99 4XV for a couple of months, the previous owner had spent 3K on shocks and setting up for the track and then not done any (rich city guy) but I decided it was a) to immaculate to track it and b) my inexperience would probably cause me to crash it, so sold it. It's back for sale but I still think it would be a shame to put it on track.

My track Gixer 750 is a K5, I've had it three years now, it's a great track bike, love it.

Lucky to live in Wilts, one of my fav blats is down to Shaftesbury, on to Salisbury and back across the plain home. some great roads, there's some lovely roads in the Wilts / Hants areas.

Ill sort out a couple of pics...

Cheers

Just added some pics to my gallery.
Still can't decide if I should buy the 4XV back, it's just so pretty.

Remembering the questions above:
Re trackdays, this is my third year (been riding 5 years) and did about 8 days last year.

just did Snetterton (2 days) a couple of weeks ago and got two double headers at Cadwell and Oulton in early July. Done Brands (like it there) Silverstone (always lost there) Castle Combe (crap ten minute sessions :-( ) and Llandow (crashed there) lol

Running in the Inters (mid way) and learning very slowly, love it though.

Ideal road bike, one my mate has, Big Bang black / gold with Akras - stunning !

Just read this, this evening - after blatting around Amesbury area !
Westbury, Warminster, over the plain to Shrewton / Amesbury (bite & drink at BK Countess) and then back via Shaftesbury.

Nice little ride :-)
