Acumen make a very good and easy too install gear indicator, as for the shift light I followed the instructios and it went ok, take a deep breath and try again, how hard can it be lol, oh and welcome in
Do not confuse my personality with my attitude. My personality is who I am. My attitude depends on who you are............
I went for the Accumen Plug'n'play model (with voltmeter readout).
A lot of folk poo-poo the use of gear indicator - citing that you should always know which ratio you are in, but for me:
Having a few bikes to ride throughout the year - means I never get totally used to the characteristics of each engine.
Using a bike in the Alps - it is useful on approach to a hairpin, to glance down and instantly know that you have to bang it down 3 ratios for the hairpin. Then you can concentrate on the other stuff like entry speed, apex etc......
If you go for a non plug'n'play - I think there is quite a bit of wiring to carry out?
Al
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........
Welcome in. I never fancied a gear indicator thought they were a waste of time, till I got my 14b and like Al says it leaves you to concentrate on other things. When I'm riding the R6 I'm always trying to get 7th and minus 1..... I think prat every time. The majority of times I do count the gears, but sometimes you forget. On track I don't know what gear I'm in I just know how many clicks up or down at my markers, I only have to count into the right gear when I enter the track.
Oh and with this post count..... You ain't going to catch hash up any time this mellenium
