Newbie from Yeovil
Hi there,
I'm very new to posting on forums so I do hope this info request isn't out of turn for a newbie. I have just come across this forum looking for some information. I am looking forward to having a read through some of the posts and adding my perspective.
I wonder if anyone could help I have a 2012 R1 50th Anniversary which I'm considering selling, only because I never get to ride her, I absolutely love the bike but with only 1450 miles in 27 months it's a shame. My issue is I'm not actually sure how much it is now worth.
Can anyone let me know where I could find the right price to look for this particular model.
Many thanks in advance.
Brian

Welcome in Brian
Now that's the way to join a forum selling your bike , I'm sorry I can't help you but with the way you've posted I'm sure one of the guys will give you the advice your after .
My advice is keep the bike & find time to ride it the 14b is a beautiful bike & I think you'll regret selling it .

Hi Brian and welcome to the forum
So why are you not using the bike, clearly you spent a wod of cash to get the bike so what's the issue with it ?

Best bet is to do a straight swap for Pods carbon bike then sell his for £4500
Seriously though, it wont be worth as much as you wish it was.

I'm not fully convinced on selling, but the reason I never get out on her is I work away all week and have 2 young children.

Hello Brian and welcome, i would suggest you take a look on bike trader, ebay , mcn etc and average out what a low mile 14b goes for, trouble you have is i am sure you will lose a fist full of cash selling it and thats a real shame.
Are you giving up riding altogether or is this just a period of time out.
Good luck with the sale and stick around here fella, its a great place , hell it might even make you want to find the time to ride the bike and keep her

Re: Newbie from Yeovil
Is this a new job working away then, if not why did you buy the bike? Plenty of members on here have the R1 as a toy that only ride it now and again, if you can afford to have it as a toy to use now and again then I say keep it, it's worth it IMO

Re: Newbie from Yeovil
A little bit about me. Took up riding when returning from the Gulf war in 2003, left the military and bought my beast in 2012. I have also done some riding for Yeovil Freewheelers (blood bike) now project Manager brewery installations so continually working away. Which really reduces my riding opportunities.
Will post a picture once I work out how to.

Time is a commodity many struggle with but its the odd time that you do get out and enjoy the beast that counts, if you can afford to keep her then do as it would be great to see you at a trackday or rideout one day fella..

Re: Newbie from Yeovil
Well that's freaky, I've seen that bike in Yeovil mate. I live in Sampsons wood down the other end of lysander road. Also I left the navy in 2004 after a 12 year stint as po stoker. I also have kids and a fun adjuster in doors. Keep the bike, give me a shout and come out for a blast buddy. I bought my 4c8 brand new in 2011 and it's only got 5k on it. The last thing I'd do is sell it but if needs must etc. Oh and I'm with luke, I don't come from Yeovil originally either but it isn't the place I'd put on my bucket list to live either lol
Give me a shout

Re: Newbie from Yeovil
Hi brain, welcome to the forum mate. I have the very same R1 as you what number is yours, mine is number 1223. Why are you selling such a beautiful bike, if you sell now as peeps say you will. Loose a shed load, if you keep her in mint condition she will be worth a mint in years to come .... How many years I don't know, but she will become a collectors item.
Regards being an ex squaddie
it's peeps like you that keep the rest if us safe, pingping is in the services and we all respect him as well.
Stick around the forum, we are a mad bunch but we are a good bunch and we look after each other ..... That's something you will know a lot about. Family and kids is what life is all about.....enjoy the kids as they grow up as it happens all too quickly, if you can only get on your bike occasionally, and you can afford to keep her, what's the issue, sheis there fir you to ride whenever you want. I know I would never sell my anniversary R1..,. What vim working on now is how I get the boss to agree to me having a third bike..... Like who needs two R1's...... Me when the new one comes out
