We come in Tom
How early is " early " ? Like Steve says give us a bit about your past , we really are a bunch of nosey huggers & you need to get some pics up when you get it . Pop over to the relevant section for your bike & read up on the best mods & what problems there are with them & also you can download the parts micro fiche & service manual

I thought the same Phil...... Has Jompy been messing with his fairings again..... I've told him plenty of times he will go blind

Welcome to the forum tommy, ignore Jompy, he is one of our senior members who gets a tad confused from time to time, put three spades against a wall and ask Jompy to take his pick...... He is totally bolluxed.......

Seriously, this is a great forum, we love pics, like pod said..... And also we love to know peeps biking history. Jompy is harmless in small doses.

TommyR82 wrote:Cheers for all the comments everyone, seems a friendly forum! I posted in another part of the forum for advice as I was concerned about the front fairing not looking quite aligned on the 2001 R1 I was hoping to buy, so I have since looked at some other high mileage/ tatty one's for reference and they were fine, so unfortunately not gone ahead with the original possible purchase. But im gonna keep searching.

Bit about me..... loved motorbikes since I can remember, and rebuilt 3 when I (should have been) studying for my GCSE's. Then had a number of different bikes, my favourite at the time been a Suzuki RGV 250, but when I lost a mate, I had a number of close calls etc, I sold my bike and got various cars, but I miss motorbikes and life is too short so now im looking for an R1! Tom
Tom there's a lovely 5jj in the for sale section from a member carson
