Hi everyone, Colin from Bristol here. Just put a deposit down on a mint 2006 R1. Been riding bikes since I was sweet 16, nearly 50 now!! Lost track of all the bikes iv owned but this is my first R1 so as you do, I joined a forum. Hope to get it delivered in a week. Post some pics when I get it. Look forward to taking full advantage of this excellent forum. By for now.

				Hi Colin, '06 R1

one of the nicest R1's imo. Although not sure if you'd consider 'nice' a compliment when referring to a litre sportsbike...but I do anyway.
Don't ask about the like icon, just press it from time to time and you'll be fine.
My name's Pete (when I'm on/or talking about my R1).
Welcome, sit down, take yer slippers off, pour yerself a whiskey and enjoy the banter.

Welcome in Colin.... Phew I spelt it right, we have another Colin on here, but he is now known as colon because I spelt his name wrong once, not that he is an arse, he is a really decent bloke goes by the name of Locke not Lockie and he also answers to colon.
Anyway, first things first, the like button that pete referred to is in the top right hand corner of any post, it's the grey thumbs up sign, fir some reason peeps like being liked on here as much as they like pics of bikes, especially R1's
As you will have guessed by now, we have a good sense of humour on this forum, loads of knowledge about R1's of all varieties. We love bikes and especially everything yamaha.
The 06 5vy is a beauty, is it the anniversary model?
Anyway enjoy the forum and the banter, and bring your sense of humour with yiu.
Oh and talking about sense of humour, for some reason colon named me Cilla..... Something to do with my introductions to new members..... Still don't understand that.
Anyway welcome to the mad house and don't forget the pics and the like button
Cilla

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Glad to see a sense of humour here. Pete your spot on about the whiskey. Coming from Glasgow I was practically weaned on the stuff! The sharp eyed amongst you might spot the ungodly hours I'm on this site. Thats because I start work at 8.45pm & finish at 6 in the morn. Only owls & prostitutes should work these hours (I'm neither, I think!!)

Cheers mate. She is lovely! Road her for 3 hours on Sunday without any pain or discomfort which really supprised me. Hope you find the R1 your looking for. Kenny Roberts livery looks ace & will be a future classic according to MCN.

Have you deleted it from your photobucket account or whatever host you are using

Just remembered. I deleated the photobucket account thinking that was the problem. When I clicked on the first pic I put up it went straight to a naughty web site with scantily clad ladies. But I think it was the pic itself which I downloaded from the dealer website I bought the bike from. I'll start again with a new photobucket account and post some pics I took myself.
