pc111 is a power commander.
ist it just dying when you get to 9k or is it just the limiter lite coming on

Should still rev up with the valve shut just not as it should, I'd be concerned with the box of spares!
Ask previous owner?

gets to 9k pops, bangs and back fires... revs only increase slowly, doesn't reach red line at all.

Box of spares is different colour fairings, standard exhaust, standard levers, all mint condition and everything the previous owner took off, brought from garage previous owner unknown.

Ok stupid ideas first !
It's not been restricted or is not an import from America or france ( it is france that's limeted to 100bhp isn't it ? )
pop's & bangs , could be fueling they have a lot of electronics . think you might need a tuner .
more details needed ! has it still got cat fitted with O2 sensors what can's it got !
maybe take it back to the dealer & say "Dude WTF ! "

change plugs, get some injector cleaner in your fuel and see how it goes ..sounds like spark breakdown or fueling

have you run a diagnostics check, fault code check on the clocks to see if anything comes up

Gotta say Hash has a point about the plugs , people have said the irridium plugs can break down before the 6000 mile service on the later R1's if i'm not too pissed to remember correctly

Welcome in mate.

Straight back to the dealer mate, let him sort it out or have you had it a while and if so has it just started.

Sounds like the AIS has been removed from your posts. Plugs can brake down as can the coil pack

Oh just have a quick look at the air filter ;)

Welcome in mate. As Pete says sounds like the AIS has been removed for Smog Plates so no doubt its been on a dyno at some point. As said I would check all the induction/fuel side of things first.

Cool help Guys.

Booked in Tuesday at Local Yamaha dealers, New Plugs it is then, I"ve just checked air filter, K&N one fitted like new, 3880 miles on bike, Tank taken off this morning to have a look, noticed air pipe from air box not fitted? could be getting some where.

If a pc has been fitted and now remove by the old owner, is there any connector plugs to check ?
