Welcome back Paul
What have you done to the bike to prep it for the road after it being stood for 5 years ? Did the bike run ok before you put it away ? Did you do anything to prep it for storage ? And what's been done to it while it was stored ?

Welcome buddy. Any fule left in the tank will have gone off. I was taught at auto engineering collage leaded fuel starts to deteriorate after 3 weeks! Well shagged after 5 years!

Maybe a compression check would be a good place to start? simple to do and will tell you if there's anything sinister going on.

welcome back Paul,
Like said previously fuel drain and new fuel should help along with plugs, fresh oil after 5 years would also be good. get some easy start through the carbs to help clear the old crap out
