Look we are all grown men/women not children, we want as few rules as possible as this is meant to be a fun place to hang out, if it isn't people will leave but on the same hand if new members turn up and it's all just slagging each others bikes off, well they won't hang around either.

I can see why Steve had gotten upset (I have a 14B too) and it does come in for a fair amount of abuse on here, much more than any other model, which isn't good if people are arriving who have just or are considering buying one, I tend to just mark the thread as read and move on, but Steve does have a point.

Maybe we should think a little bit (me included) before we make a post that may be derogatory about someone's bike that cannot be backed up with hard facts, personal experience and not just hearsay, if we all consider before we post that there are people who love their bike maybe more than their wife (I know I do) and so could be hurt/worn down/narked off by the constant comments running it down, then we will all be on here for a long time to come.

If someone posts something that you are upset about notify Bub, Jon or I rather than getting angry and start flaming, that also does the forum no favours and won't win us new friends, and that is why I am here, I like to think I have met a few of you guys now and that we will be friends in person for a very long time (not just internet/facebook friends), and I am looking forward to meeting more members over the coming years.

Steve & Jon are right in that we have built a great little community here, lets not fcuk it up.

I must make one thing clear,this thread was directed at every member,there has been alot of members seemingly getting quite tetchy of late,me included

But its not just bikes,there seems to be more and more personal abuse/piss taking of late,which i can tire of sometimes and thats when it isnt even directed at me,some members on here take alot more personal insults than others,and to be fair they take it on the chin
As Mike says,just think twice about what your about to post,would you like it to be directed at you/your bike on regular occasions?

Can the piss taking not be kept to certain parts of the forum rather than spread around in almost every thread?
Sometimes threads with people looking for genuine advice ends up with two pages of nonsense,although it can be funny at times , it can also be quite annoying.

Adrian has had the right royal piss taken out of him several times a day and on a daily basis, if anything you should be directing this more towards him than anyone else...

i aint saying nothin! im never mentioning colours, models and anything i have no experience in, which means i pretty much have f**k all to say . can i abuse luke still please as i know he will take it! i have never gone out intentially to offend anyone(apart from luke). if i didnt think some one could take it i wouldnt give it. i know im a slow rider and i have an old bike and a small penis so there aint much anyone can say that will offend me

I know who has the piss ripped out of them the most,as most on here do,i take the piss yes,but not towards certain members in every post i write

for a newbie i feel i get my fair share of abuse, trying to work out if its because i have a slow bike or if its because i have a small penis. luke has taken a special shine to me, got a feeling he fancys me, cant be sure but hes now asking for photos!!!

Nice try Chris, but in fairness i would have said you're Cuddly not fat and you certainly aint slow, I'm sure Pod & Luke will send a PM about the tongue comment soon

All fair and just points being made and personally I am taking them onboard.
Some have said what I have been saying all along and some have added comments that I am now aware of and shall keep in mind.
I hope we can all take something positive from this and use it to make this the #1 R1 forum that even with our arsehole versions of knowledge I'm sure we can make it.
I have bitten and I have bitten hard, that probably shows some failing in my persona (of which I am aware) but a bear is a bear regardless of wether it looks cuddly or not and if poked that bear will bite. Lets not be nieve about cause and effect.
We need to remember that every action has an equal and opposite reaction
Things are not always received as intended so "meaning and intention" must be made very very clear.
We all (me included) must think twice about our posts and stop being reactionary.
We may think that posts will be taken in jest and usually are but at the other end it may not be taken as so and for varying reason.
b1tch wife, bad day at work, family issues blah blah. Thinking twice will allow for these considerations.
many of us have built up a forum relationship where we think we can judge acceptable levels of slagging each other but do we ever consider how noobs will read it? Afterall they know nothing of our personal relations to each other.
That said, if a person feels it is going too far, isn't it the right thing to do by backing off a bit? Are we really trying to piss people off for the sake of some personal little giggle.
We tread a fine line when we do not know how a post will be taken so lets err on the side of caution and have a think about the person on the other end, regardless of who, what bike or whatever.

I am sorry for any comments I have made that offended anyone, it was reactionary from a long running tease that I hope has now been addressed.
