Hi all, Had my 07 4c8 a while now.
Been poking my head about on here now and again. Great site, lots of info!
Currently turning it into a track bike as maybe someday i'll want it on the road again so though it best to put track plastics on before the inevitable happens..

Eh? You haven't been sniffing your half an R1 again have you monkey face?
Welcome in Dave, as you will be well aware of, we have a great sense of humour on here, well some of us do, others think it's cool to have half a bike, but hay it's not jompys fault really, he doesn't like things getting in the way of inner beauty, unfortunately the people and staff in M&S didn't appreciate his streaking the other day, although the police officer attending let him off for indecent exposure as she said his bits and bobs could only be seen if his fur was combed the other way...... Do monkeys have fur or hair.... Anyway whatever, here is a pic of Jompy when he was younger, Jompy is the one looking at the camera
Anyway, welcome to the mad house, you will need your sense of humour and a thick skin. The guys on here are great and very knowledgeable about all things really especially bikes.
So welcome Dave .
Cilla

I think that's a bit too new for me mate, when I was a lad we used to listen to a great juggler on the radio who was followed by a brilliant magician....... Them Sunday evenings were magic

..... Mind you, thinking about it..... You never knew if he pulled the trick off

apologies, have been away.
Cheers for welcome!! Will get some pics up when its been transformed, nowt major mind, just track fairings (bit tatty at that) on a standard bike except for pipes.
Been biking for 9 years but have lost interest on the roads at the moment, got darley booked with the acu test in march and croft in april, then me and a mate will have ticked off all uk tracks (unless any of you can throw up one we have not done and which is bookable without being a member of a club etc.)(PLEASE DONT!!) and then hoping to do an endurance race somewhere next year but were not sure whose bike were going to do it on yet

Darley Is a lovley little track, done that a couple of times

, I remember locking my front brake going from the start finish straight into the first right hander, from memory it's like 120 degrees, so it comes back on itself somewhat, anyway, the photographer was there and snapped me, peeps said it was an awsome pic, my reply was it may have been but I was praying like hell in me lid to get round, heart pounding...... We did get round, the bike cough cough, a honda...... Cough cough had more skill at getting round that corner than me, thankfully.

Good to hear, have seen a few youtube vids, looks like a fun track and a few tight corners thrown in...
Did you get a copy of the pic?

Yes a few tight corners and a very slow hairpin with a left kink just before it.
Yes I did get a pic, but it was in the days of photographs not the digital stuff if today, will dig it out and see if my son can scan it in, the thing is my style was crap, although I was dragging my knee I was sat almost upright on the bike, rather than shoulder down in the corner. Infact when in.ook at my old track day photos and compare them to those of today, I have gone from a Neanderthal to say an ancient Greek in terms of progress, which is good, but I still have a long way to go ...

Aye, its interesting looking back at old pic's. I had a low side 5 years ago and broke my leg, put me off work for 6 months. I got back on the bike as soon as i could and booked a track day. My confidence on the front was zapped and looking at the pic's you could see how much my body was leaning away from the corner's while my arse was shifted as before, definitely helped me get my head back a bit by seeing how uncomfortable i looked.
Be great to see that pic steve
