My name's James and from the South West and i am 23 years old. Just recently bought a 2008 R1 and absolutely love it so thought i'd join here to join fellow Yamaha owners.

Hope to speak to you all soon and help out whenever i can :)

i would but as of yet i havnt taken any pictures but i will get on asap.

For biking history i've owned and ridden ZX6 and 7r's in my say 4 years riding. Always wanted an R1 however being early 20's meant insurance seen £££ till now.

That's better m8 ;) decent 1st bike the zx6 :) so if the r1's ur first litre bike you must be enjoying the extra 'grunt' she delivers & as the weathers finally warming up you'll soon get to know her inside-out ;)

Welcome in James, and at 23 you are one of our youngest members along with fewksie and maz_636 . I wish I had had an R1 at your age. Good opening post btw and the pics, what a beautiful R1. The black and gold colour scheme reminds me of the JPS Ford Capri's of the 1970's, well before your time.

Anyway , you have come to the right place to learn about R1's. This is by far the best biking forum there is and peeps are very knowledgable, like to help each other out but at the same time are happy to take the p!ss out of each other, so make sure you join in. Oh and any questions just ask.

So welcome to the mad house

Stephen
