37 years old from Maidenhead, Berkshire.
My bike history is fairly short.
GPZ500. YZF600r Thundercat. VFR750fv. CBR1100xx SuperBlackbird and now the R1.

The new bike is a 2004 YZF R1 5PW (I think) in blue. 37k on the clock.

This is my first sports bike. I got it as a straight swap for the bird. I'm still not sure what drove me to do it but I think it's because I didn't want to go through my biking life having never had a litre sports bike. First impressions are very good, performance is as I expected, fast and light but what has surprised me is that it is relatively comfortable.
Below are photos of my last bike and the R1.

Oh and the double post nightmare has hit you too, don't worry, it happens to all if us, we don't know why, it just does it at times ... I guess that means you are now officially one of us

Thanks for making me welcome.
Most my mates call me 'Tricky'.
She's must be late registered because her first registration was July 2004 but the model is 2002-2003. Would love to know her manufacture date.

Welcome, I bought a 4xv last year and still have a ZZR1200, which I must sell. Don't think you'll miss the Blackbird at all...
