Hello. Just bought a 5PW

Post by big_jim »

Hello.
My mate has bought a Zx10r so had his R1 for sale.

I've got a Street triple R and miss my sports bikes so decided to buy it off him.

Needs an exup cable tho..

Welcome in Jim
Wemoto do pattern cables cheap enough http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/yzf_ ... nky_glide/
Those street triples are a fun bike but if you rip the crap plastic off & put a set of renthals on your 5PW you'll have the best of both worlds ;)

Good idea.

I do feel like Iv got the best of both world having 2 bikes tho!

I ride everyday to work 25 mile round trip, and out as much as I can when not at work, plan to use both bikes, just take whichever takes my fancy that day...

Mark, how much do you want for the cables mate?

Cheers fellas.

It's done 30k miles, my mate used it for work everyday for 3 years.
It was his pride and joy tho and was always clean. Spent some good money on it too!

Mark, I'll definitely do that!

It's a great bike mate. Really fun to ride. Wind is bad at high speed and after a while, I missed the speed of a 1000cc, other than that, it's awesome.

Parked the street up last week and have been solely using the R1.
Felt odd at first, my back hurt and I was uncomfortable. Couple of days in tho, and it all went away and I started to really enjoy it.

On it again this week and loving it. Haven't had chance to fit the exup cables yet and I do feel the hesitation at certain revs, other than that tho, I'm loving it. Doesn't feel fast now tho like when I first got on it coming from the street.
