Welcome to the forum Barry, lancashire is a great county, up until last week I worked in Preston, worked fir LCC schools so was always in your neck of the woods on the bike to boot. :P

To post pics you have to host them in something like photobucket and then you simply copy the image link into your post. The majority of members only got a photobucket account so we could post pics, so best of luck. I'm as computer literate as a T. rex .... And I managed to do it.

Theis is an excellent forum, loads of banter and good humour p!ss taking, you will need a good sense of humour. Peeps are very helpful, moderators leave us to get on with things, I fact they are one of us, which says it all really.

We love everything Yamaha and everything bikes, you could say we are mad about bikes, but then you have probably guessed that already.

Oh and if it can be said in three words.... I will take a page of A4

So welcome to the best ever forum.... You won't regret joining.

Jeeeeeesuuuuuuusssssssss.... Jompy....... You would get p!ssed on the smell of baileys..... Never mind drinking it

And why and earth you would want to drink a Gordon's and Tango is beyond me  but knowing you I'm right.

Btw Barry love the blue version, so spill the beans... It will give Jompy something to eat when ge has finished his tango...... What happened re the dry stone wall and where did it happen..... As long as you are ok bikes can be repaired.

Dry Stone wall - 1 ; YZF R1 - 0 ,,! (their a bit feckin Ard are them there dry stone walls)

Nothing stupid just a nice sunny afternoon & a couple of us decided to get a breakfast in Settle so,,,, came upto a nice couple of bends I know quite well on the way to Long Preston from Gisburn (Lovely roads in the dry), I slowed down & tipped into the 1st bend, a nice right hander on grippy clean dry tarmac,, flicked the bike over for the immediate left hander, nice line,, just on the apex looking at the perfect line out onto a long straight and suddenly the front just washed out ??,, my left shoulder then my chin hit the road and I saw my baby sliding away from me (I'm sure I started crying at this point).
,,,the bike was turning slowly (like it knew what was coming) and then the back end of the bike hit a dry stone wall.
It's hit it in such a way as it only damaged, twisted & shredded the sub frame and all the wiring & plastics at the back (including shredding all the wires coming from the alarm box plug that feeds into the loom) ! ! ! !

,,So now the subframe has been replaced (main frame checked & all ok !),and the left side mag cover replaced & baby off the road for a while.

My headache now is to try & replace the alarm plug & wires that were shredded. The new wiring is on a new plug that I already had which is why I'm asking (my other post) if any one with a 4xv poss has any pictures of the bike without its tank on ???

Welcome in mate... LOL I now have an image of steve strapped to a sack barrow with a Hannibal mask on... yeeps dark room must lie down... :D
Riding an R1 is a little like poking a hibernating bear up the arse with a stick, when you doing it, its great fun but when you get caught out it will f**k you up!
