howdy from willenhall

Post by ch35t3r »

Hey there names Phil and today i aquired this beaut.

Image

Found you guys searching for R1 forums on google.

this is an 06 Lava Red with just over 21k on the clock. Only my second bike after passing my test last year at the grand age of 40 lol traded in my good ol Hornet 900 which taught me a bit about riding but wanted something a little more exciting so opted for this little beaut.

Hi Phil and welcome, nice choice of machine, is that a proper 06 or just registered in 06? as the latter has a longer swing arm.

make sure the valves have all been checked in the service history and the both TPS have been changed under warranty ;)

Welcome in Phil, beautiful bike and colour. I had one back in 2004 and did over 65,000 miles on it in just under three years, supurb engine

This is a friendly forum with loads of banter so don't be shy and ask any questions you want, someone will have been there done that and got the t shirt to boot.

So enjoy your new toy and the forum.

will definitely check the history when i pick it up and what are TPS? i am buying it from a yamaha dealer so hopefully if its a warranty job should have been done?

Welcome in Phil, nice bike. Enjoy the forum and bike.

That bike does look a tad low, best ask the dealer to check it out, easy way to tell, if on the side stand it pretty upright then its been lowered ;)

Pretty sure the '06 was the red and silver like yours instead of the red and black('04/'05)
And I think the fork tubes are more gold in colour

The dealer is phoning me today so i'll have a word, if its been lowered is it just a case of taking a lowering kit off or is there more to it?

The dealer did say this was a one off colour scheme only made for 2006? so maybe it is an official 06 bike?
