It did it before (the night before a trackday) after a two week lay up. After going through everything I found it was the chokes. Getting it hot and putting the choke back on for a bit sorts it out after a while, it goes from a lumpy 3k idle to a solid 2k. I know a full carb rebuild is needed but it only does it when it's not used. I'll just run it every few days until funds allow the rebuild2002r1jon wrote:How did you sort the sticking choke Tom?,just a spray of carb cleaner?tomhubbard wrote:Well got it finished today. Had more trouble with a choke sticking on no.4 pot but now that's sorted this new lump pulls like a train! It's off to the lawnmower man for a setup and rolling road and maybe one more track day before this weather really sets in

Re: Hi
Dont worry about a carb refurb mate,it really is an easy job, you just need to be methodical in the way you go about it, so as not to mix stuff up, but as I say, its not difficult

Are they always this bitchy and defensive. I read a post earlier saying we should all sing from the same song sheet and I agree. Don't see any point in even logging in to tell people to f**k off. This seems bizarre to me
Some forums just don't tolerate behaviour like this and would lock the thread and suspend people if it continued.
But most forums are fine. My test is to see if newbies are told to search when they ask questions. If I see that, then I don't join!
Hmmmm,
If you had read as many posts as "we" hardcore members of this forum have on for example "Tyre recommendations ???" you'de get a bit fukked off with them after a while.
When you have thousands of members then you will cover just about every make of tyre out there as a "recommendation" and so render any advice as " what is the best tree in the forest"
There are a hundred and one tyre threads in this forum and it doesn't need another one on the same subject.
Would you read the same book a hundred times just because someone changed the wording a little? Hell no you wouldn't.
It's only polite to use the search facility " it's there for a reason" and if you can't find what you are after then say so and we will all be polite enough to help out.
No malice intended toward you in this post by the way

Just money/time/lack of enthusiasm getting in the way lol2002r1jon wrote:Dont worry about a carb refurb mate,it really is an easy job, you just need to be methodical in the way you go about it, so as not to mix stuff up, but as I say, its not difficult
