Like Jompy I have the standard headers with a Mivv can, except it's Ti. Very happy except I think it ran a tad better with the stock exhaust. But it looks and sounds sooo much better.
The midrange is awesome, will power wheelie in 2nd and the front gets very light in 3rd. I have thought about further mods (K&N air filter, rejetting, Ivan's airbox mod) but it really doesn't need more power for street riding.

Re: Newby from West London
buddy i asked geoff to stick mine on the dyno just to make sure it was running ok , i told him that i wasn't fussed about power and seeing the figures i just wanted it running well & he never charged me bless him , it wasn't until later that i realised he'd rejetted it for me while he was at it , it now has a noticeable increase in midrange , pulls a lot better & as far as i can tell it's not made much of a difference to the mpg , well worth getting some one to set yours up properly mateMoise wrote:Like Jompy I have the standard headers with a Mivv can, except it's Ti. Wow, it's not a 5 minute job to rejet a carbed bike! Do you have before and after dyno charts by any chance?
I seem to recall you are running a K&N filter if my increasingly unreliable memory is correct

your right mate i'm running a K&N , the reason he dyno'd it as a favor while he was fitting the engine is that he knows my wife from the trade but part of the deal was no charts , you can tell the difference thoughMoise wrote:Wow, it's not a 5 minute job to rejet a carbed bike! Anyone stumbled across this site?
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
According to the figures 576 R1's were registered in 1998, currently 106 are on sorn and a further 106 are taxed. Given that a fair number may have expired/scrapped/track use only, would any experts out there comment on the accuracy of these figures given their experience collated on the forum?

I have seen that site before but I'd guess there's more 98 R1's than that on the road unless there's a thousand only taxed for 6 monthsR14XV wrote:Anyone stumbled across this site?
