Just saying hi

Post by rapidgaz »

Hi lads/lasses. Hope to be getting my first r1 this week some time. 07 plate. Can't wait.
Only been back on the road for almost 2 years after a 16 year break. Got a new sv650 to start on as a born again biker. Lol
So have I done the right thing in going for an r1. I think so, what do you lot think. :)

That look nice. I had a SV650 years ago which was a great wee bike. The R1 will be a hell of a lot quicker but if you have your road craft then you will be fine. Just easy on the throttle for the first few rides to adjust to the difference. Hope you get it mate.

By eck are you going to get a shock !
As said if you have good experience you'll be fine , they're bloody quick ! If you don't get the finance then consider the older R1's , you can pick up a good 4xv or 5jj for £2500 , that's a lot of bang for your buck !
main present hinge is enjoy :)
ohh yeah welcome in gaz

4c8 after that break, no problem unless she has a PC3/5 and map fitted with those pipes then FFS be careful they are quick, as standard they a quite tame until 11k is hit and then its oh my god

Welcome to the forum gas and that's one beautiful looking bike, hope all goes well and she ends up in your garage. As the guys have said there is one hell of a difference between the SV and the R1 but take your time to get used to her and you will find her very rewarding to ride, just don't try pinning the throttle.

You have come along to the right forum, the guys are helpful and knowledgeable and we support one and other too. We love banter as much as R1's so you will need yiur sense if humour and a thick skin. Also there are no clicks on here whatsoever, which also makes this forum different and significantly better than the rest.

Keep us posted as to how you get on

Took it out for a test ride, think I should be ok. Sv has been an ideal starter bike again. Quite happy as I paid 4 new for the sv and after 18 months they offer me 3000 and there is 9000 on the clock. Just waiting with baited breath now. :)
