Hi

Post by ukcoyote »

Hi,

Now how do I say this, I do not own a Yamaha (but do own another make of bike) but my wife owns a Westfield on which we run with R1 Carbs.
I was after some information and thought this might be a good place to try.

thanks
John

Welcome to the forum john, and as Kyle said we do like a bit of biking history and some pics in introductory posts. At the of the day we are a biking forum , and although we love everything to do with yamaha we are all bikers , and bikes are bikes, so it rally doesn't matter to us if you ride another bike, we even have some honda members on here :o , some of us have even owned Hondas in the past :o or even worse suzukis or the pink framed R1..... Ok that's just got me into trouble with wally, colon and the Welshman.....

As Kyle also says the majority of the guys are very knowledgable, monkey face will be along in a bit with a link on how to post pics.

We are a friendly bunch, like one big happy family, there is loads of banter on the forum and good humoured p!ss taking.... We all have thick skins or are thick, either way it don't matter and there are no clicks on here. The guys offer good honest advice, so it really is the place to be for bikers .

So welcome

Cilla :P

Well as you insist here is my History, i am not one to get a new bike every year and there is a big lack of Yamahas although i have been on a lot of FZRs in my past owned by others
.
Yamaha FS1E owned in early 80’s

1976 Kawasaki Z400 Bought late 80’s Sold in 1994

1980 Kawasaki Z400 Bought in 1990 Sold in 1994

1993 Suzuki GSF600F bought in 1994 owned for 2 years then traded in

1996 Suzuki RF900R bought new in 1997 and owned for 3 years before writing it off in the south of France

1991 Kawasaki ZXR400L1 bought in 1998 as a second bike for blasting around on. Still owned by my wife now and I love going for a quick blast on it. Still a big smile every time.

1998 Kawasaki ZX6R G2 Bought new in Jan sales 1999, still owned as a track bike.

1999 Suzuki RF900R bought 2003 to replace the ZX6 as it was not a track bike. Used as a part exchange for the new engine in the wife’s Westfield.

2002 Kawasaki ZX9R Current road bike bought 2005 as a second road bike to keep long term.

1998 Westfield SEWi bought 2002. New hand built 2.1 Ford Pinto engine, from an engine builder with many stock car championships. It is fuelled by Yamaha R1 carbs.

Well that about sums it up!
