Re: hi all
I put the standard brake lever back on a while back. It was horrible after being used to aftermarket levers.
The screw should have a slot. Is there a nut on the bottom?

Re: hi all
yea,nut underneath, but it was impossible to get on it.
turns out you have to undo the 8mm bolt near the choke and twist it all round
so the nut is clear and you can get on it.god knows why it hasnt just got a screw like the brake lever
or the nut isnt easier to get too.says faff all as usual in the haynes manual.
bloke across the road has same model r1 and his is the same,no slot for a screwdriver.
all the blue stuff is off now including gear shift rod, break fluid reservoir lid, levers, screen trim ect
gave it all to the neighbour as his is a white and blue 2001 dynamite r1,so he may make use of them.
just awaiting 6 new black screen bolts to replace the blue ones then ill be happy.
new paddock stands arrived today too,so stuck them together, now i can get the autosol round them wheels at the weekend and get some new fresh pics up.
yea them original levers seem massive, like giant bananas lol, take some getting use to again but look loads better than the blue chinese ones that were on!
just nipped the bike up the road to check all is back together properly and my god it flys, like a missile and sooo smooth.
that new exhaust sounds fantastic as the revs rise!!

Re: hi all
Why would you have all those blue bits on a red bike? Maybe it was originally blue?
I was so lucky with my bike, it came with a box that had all of the original stuff in it .

Re: hi all
no,it seems a previous owner has tried to match believe it or not the blue on the calipers!
i got all the o.e parts with it,gear change rod, both levers, original brake fluid pot lid,
and a spare exup motor thingy and cables.just had to buy bar ends and swingarm bobbins and £4 for new black screen bolts.
ill feel better once theyre here tomorrow and the last blue bit has gone.
all packaging for the blue stuff too, most was £25 each, gear rod, fluid cap,bar ends ect that was £125 just for them 3!
not my cupa tea at all but each to their own.
