Hi Billy, welcome in, take a look around, it's a lovely place with all sorts of oddments, titbits and information, fun for all the family, no need to take yer boots off although this will give you a greater sensitivity...something we've long forgotten, we seem to just stomp around insensitive to all that we crush beneath us, not the forum but as a Western society in general. Be careful with opening some of the doors as once opened you may never be able to close them again and you will never be the same, but is this a bad thing? Probably not, we're just adding stories and snip bits to the ever expanding database, in my case 95% of which will be forever lost anyway but subliminally moving me in a direction we call free will.
I love the crossplane crankers, soo much character, you'll probably either love or hate it in a Ducati kinda way.

Re: Newbie
Welcome to the forum Billy as pete said, or cock as he is known to us, the 14be is a fantastic bike, but like marmite, peeps on here either love em or hate them...... I'm on my third so I guess I love em. The sound is intoxicating, like Rossi's M1. They are a bit of a big girl to steer , like a supertanker on two wheels , but you do get used to it. It may not have the top end if the 4c8 but it has the grunt from the off, and let's face it 99.9% of peeps who ride these bikes are mere mortals that can never get near the top end, PJC, hash, luke and simon, oh and kyle and pod are the exceptions on here.
This is a great forum, no, it's the best forum, admin join in with the banter as much as the rest of us, we are a friendly bunch, no clicks , just peeps from all walks of life, from all ages 24 to 70 who share a passion and a love for bikes and in particular Yamaha's.
So join in, as Paul said, yiu will getvout of this forum what you put in.
So welcome
Cilla aka stephen

Re: Newbie
Fookin El I think you'll notice a tad difference in power on the R1 lol
Take it easy pal, it's easy to get carried away with the throttle
