new kid to the block

Post by arctic silk »

Hi all,
Thought I would say a quick hi to introduce myself.
Never had an r6 before but am covering a 2co into a track bike at the moment. So far so good with her apart from snapping 5 of the 8 header bolts when removing the exhaust. Having a full mhp system instead. Ended up having to drill, tap and helicoil all of them in the end! Did a proper job at least! So currently waiting to get my exhaust back. Hopefully it turns up in time as I need it next Thurs for Silverstone!

Currently I have done the following:

Silkolene oil change
Coolant change
K&N oil filter
K&N air filter
Full superbike bodywork race fairing
R&G crash bungs
Double bubble screen
MHP full system w/ clubman can
Rental 520 chain and sprocket conversion
PC3
All bolts swapped for stainless
HRC rear reservoir
HEL front and rear braided lines w/ brembo fluid change

Hoping to get a custom map for my mhp system on wed too.

Never had issues with k&n myself in the past, perhaps you had a Friday afternoon one!! Deffo not my first bike. Been riding since I was 6 yrs old. My bikes get treated better than my mrs. I even have a Ducati 749 coffee table in my front room (I make things like this for Ducati UK).
Bikes I've had then.......sigh

Yz125
Xl600r
Drz400e
Kawasaki z750
Cbr600rr
Cbr600f4i
Ducati 848 evo
Varadero

Currently got 3 in my garage so tis a bit cramped! Will post some pics of the r6 up once I get her outside. All on stands in the garage at the mo whilst I fit the fairings and do the decals.
