Evening all

Post by Westdale »

Hello all,

just thought I'd drop a line and introduce myself.

Been riding a GS for a few years and been introduced to a good friends R1 (2012) over the last few months, then been to watch a few track days...well I guess you know how this is going! I'm now the owner of a 2008 R1 track bike (pictures to follow if I can work it out).

I guess I will be mostly asking track related questions and queries around set up and parts.

Be nice, I will be king of asking stupid questions..... :royalty-king:

Welcome in pal :) and as Sam said ;) :)

A question only becomes daft once the right answer reveals your thinking to be - shall we say abstract ;) ;)

Welcome to the forum Johnny , and as peeps say the only stupid question is a question that is not asked. Peeps have a wealth of knowledge on here so just ask away, they love helping new forum members.

Oh one thing though.....

Don't listen to monkey face aka Jompy, she gets really upset if you have any sort of fairing on a bike, hers is naked, it reminds her of the days spent in her youth swinging in the trees

Oh and we have a strange sense of humour as well :?

Welcome

Cheers everybody for a nice warm welcome.
Reading a few forum topics and I can see the levely of humour I need to aim down to :D

I've been busy over the weekend taking fairing off and damaged parts I have inherited (bar grips, speedo cover, crap stickers etc). Just starting to clean it all up now.

Regarding what spec it has on, I couldn't honestly tell you, that is how high my knowledge is. From what I have looked at everything seems to be pretty much standard apart from brakes, suspension and race fairing etc. It has had a power commander on previously but doubt I will need that for now!

Got a spare set of wheels so just getting a new set of tyres and some wets for the spares. And saving up for tyre warmers. My pocket money is quickly running out!

By the way, I don't know the difference between a reply and a quick quote, how to post a picture, change my signature........and probably many more things which make it look I have a vague ability and knowledge on forums!

With a quick post you can still scroll down & read the rest of the comments on that post , with the post reply you have more options like embedding you tube videos . In the main forum under the newbies section is the forum rules & guidelines you should be able to find a lot of answers in there including how to post pics from photobucket , how to set up tapashite & how to embed YouTube videos amoungst musch more , we all started somewhere ;)
