Banger newbie

Hi folks
New to forum and R1ing. My name is wayne, in my forties and from cwmbran s.wales. recently got a 2011 r1 which is something ived craved since passing me direct access in 2006. I suppressed the urge and started my biking life with a sensible entry, a sv650. I was then going to take the plunge but ended up getting a daytona 675 which quite frankly was reluctant to part with, fantastic value for your dollar. Now an r1 owner i feel like a rat with a gold tooth, what an animal. Im by far not the fastest joe on the road but it makes u feel like it.

Haven't tried the baffles out yet, seems loud as is but will eventually take em out to try.

Hi Wayne and welcome to the forum, now that's what we call a first class first post mate , history and pics, just what we nosey buggers like.

You have a beautiful sausage there, we'll let me explain, Big Bang = banger = sausage, yeah we have a strange sense of humour on here, but what the heck, Locke likes being called colon, Jompy monkey face and me well I'm Cilla stick around and it will all appear logical.... Well sort of.

We have all sorts of riders on here from really fast racers through fast group riders, intermediates and novices, then there are those of us who ride in the real world, on the roads like pod, Locke and me, oh and talking about being fast, I was overtaken by a milk float last week

Seriously, this is a great forum, peeps are very knowledgable and helpful, any questions just ask..

Oh and try the bike without the baffles , she won't be offensively loud, but she will be music to your ears

Well you get the prize, it took me ages to work out why colon called me Cilla and you have it in one......

It all started by me, well I sometimes getvmybletters mixed up, especially o's and i's and I typed colon instead of Colin, colon stuck and being the nice guy he is, he ain't an arse at all, he decided to call me Cilla, because of my welcome posts to newbie's, I didn't really understand it.

Then there is monkey face , that's Jompy, he once got uptight about something, which is unusual for him as he is so laid back he is almost horizontal, anyway I asked who had rattled his cage monkey face, and that stuck......

Ok you don't need to know this but it gives you an idea what we are like.

Oh and then there is the strawberry blond who we all call ginge..... But that name is rather obvious really

Thanks for the insight muc. Does monkey boy(jompy) have long monkey arms , sounds like could he can can get his elbows down like marques.

Oh yeah I remember now you did what I would have done and spoken to him about it.

Been there done that and got the t shirt, but it was because I wanted to build a garage, not cos of the bike
