Newbie saying hello
Newbie saying hello
Hello from Lancashire, I've had my first R1 4c8 for just over 14month now great bike but just flipped it at 140mph at the top of the hill at knock hill on Friday 18/9 so looking for some parts and any help would be most helpful thanks in advance. Tubbs68

Re: Newbie saying hello
Welcome to the forum Stuart, sorry to hear if your little off. Hope you are ok and that the bike can be repaired.
The only bit of a 4c8 that I have is one of the air intake grills but I can't remember if it's left or right. If it's any use to you you can have it, I don't want anything for it.
Post up some pics if your bike, preferably before your off and tell us what you think of her

Anyway welcome to the forum

Welcome in mate. How did you manage that? I know the front wheel lifts over the brow. Are you ok? Surely the bike is scrap!

Re: Newbie saying hello
Thanks for the reply's, I had been fighting her all morning trying to keep the front down over the crest and I was short shifting to 5th gear, but when It flipped I'm pretty sure I'd missed 5th and it stayed in 4th and the next thing I knew was that she just reared up on me and before I got chance to shut off or touch the rear brake I was skating down the tarmac, luckily she sat up on the acro pipes and didn't come down on me.
Considering I'm pretty ok fractured left foot big toe, right foot badly bruised, left knee bruised, right elbow bad bruised and sore right thumb. Defo race leathers and protection saved my arse.
Bike damage, rear sub frame, arco end cans , rear sets, right clip on, left switch gear , gravel rash on tank, fairing clock bracket, fairings (after market) other bits n bobs but will no more when I start stripping it.
I will post a picture soon as.

Ouch , all the best for a quick recovery bud !
i know when PJC was looking for a rear subframe for his " heavily" crashed 4C8 he ended up buying a new one from partzilla in the states as it worked out cheaper !

Jesus mate! Hope you have a speedy recovery. The bike looks beyond financial repair but keep us posted. First time at Knockhill?

Good job you had those crash bungs on mate. Might have caused more damage if you didn't,
Seriously though I've got a 4C8 race bike that I regularly take to bits so any help I can give you just let me know
