After a recent trip to the Nurburgring (4th trip) which a friend brought along his rsv4 factory.
It promted me to get a bike again. I passed my test a number of years ago and always wanted an r1.
Now at 26 i have one.
Now my main hobby is cars and having my own workshop and a newly acquired house meant although I could buy an expensive new bike, I didnt want to.
So I set about looking for a project and one came about around 8 miles away.
Bought as an unknown I'm sure some of you may have seen it on trader and eBay.
The bike was described as having carb issues and it does indeed. They leak fuel like mad.
That didn't stop me trying to get a quick listen. So after a few cranks it caught ran for 10 seconds and flooded stinking the place out with fumes. Well it ran that's all that mattered
Any way this is getting a bit long winded I'll probably use it to start my progress thread off
Here are a couple of pics.
Plans are strip and rebuild carb,s general tidy, steering damper, that will probably be it for the 2015/2016 until I'm used to riding again.
