A very warm welcome, nice 4c8 there, is she totally standard. How do you rate the engine and general setup of the bike.

Enjoy the forum, plenty of good info and general tom foolery here ;)

Well done on posting the pics, I do wonder what bikes you have had before and where you ride.

Sorry to hear about the slight issue :(

Can someone move this to Newbies please

Welcome to the forum Adam, cracking first post and a pic of a beautiful bike as well  . Sorry to hear about yiur engine trouble, but it sounds as though you will be able to get it sorted, which is more than I could do .

Anyway, welcome, as Pete aka PJC says tell us a bit about yiur biking history and what you think of your 4c8, it will help us to get to know you and vice versa. This is a great forum, we are all equal, except in the height department, sadly some if us are not as tall as other members in here, but hay hoe, we have a good old laugh, loads if banter and knowledge, so any questions just ask, but don't ask monkey face aka Jompy what to do with your fairings ......... He has a phobia about faired bikes .... But you will get to know about this.

Anyway enjoy the forum

Stephen :D

Thanks guys.

Yeah I'm 24 from Rotherham, my first bike was a Yamaha yzf r125 then I moved to Honda n got a cbr600f4i... nice beginner big bike but just had to get the r1 when the chance came, had to go back to the Yamaha!...
Yeah I love the 4c8, I think it's the best looking of all R1, rides beautifully and having taken her round donington park and Cadwell a few times can definitely say it's an awesome handling bike too... I swear by the Bridgestone Bt016's I have on it, they did mint on the track as well as a great all round road tyre too...

Having so much fun fixing her up over winter, just can't wait for summer to get back round. So I can get back out on it.

To answer PJC. Yeah she is totally standard (at the moment) fella, [emoji6]
I have big plans for her over the next few months tho.

I will post some pictures soon showing the progress of the engine strip

Cheers guys.

Ps sorry about the essay here [emoji57]

Welcome to the forum mate

I've just sold my 4C8 race bike, good luck with the modding but you'll find that good quality parts can be hard to get hold of and are farkin expensive for the 4C8

I like a lot of others went for decat end can and flash tune ,rather than internal engine mods ask pjc about his old 4c8 and how to unlock its potential

Well seen as I already have engine in bits I figured it would be rude not to upgrade the internals Image

some how a small piece of ally got into the oil pump jamming it solid and snapping the spline meaning the water pump wasn't working either !
the guy that stripped it said it was one worst he'd seen , warpped the crank & every thing :o
