Hello From both of us
Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce me and my R1M.
I've had it a few weeks now and love going out on it but am starting to get questions about upgrades and someone to teach me about the modes for traction, suspension, power etc.
I'm from derby and am a bit short on riding buddies and knowledge of good roads to stretch it's legs on.

Welcome in mate, your in good company as nobody knows anything about bikes here
however if it's vans, caravans or the price of gammon in morrisons, you're sorted
Only joking this is a great place to be a part of, nice bike you have

Welcome in,I think there's a couple of members near Derby.
You won't much help with mods to your bike - we'll just encourage you to buy Really Expensive stuff that you don't need.
At least you've already got lightweight bolts and heaps of carbon fibre!

Re: Hello From both of us
Thanks for the Welcome
As far as my biking history goes, started on Honda 50s in the local woods, then got a DT50 for the road, then got Kawasaki KX125, Then a Yam RM 250 2 stroke which was insane. Then I had a Yellow Cagiva Mito 125 de restricted with an Arrow exhaust that was amazing fun and the look on peoples faces as you go past at 90mph on a 125 was priceless. Then came my first big bike I got myself a Kawasaki ZX6R in black and silver. Kept that for a while then we'll say I had cash flow problems and didn't have a bike for a few years. Then a few years ago I got myself an 06 R6 which I thought id keep for ever, then a month ago I fell in love with my latest 2015 R1M.
Still getting to grips with the power but the way it accelerates is incredible. Just trying to work out the uploading of pictures then ill put some up.
Never had chance to do a track day but would love to take this on one to be able to see what I can really do without a tit in a car sending a text message on the wrong side of the road.

The difference between this and the 600 is huge in terms of performance, but normal riding its so easy to move around. Then twist the throttle and you leave everything standing.
Tail tidy is in hand, also I can't stand the OEM leavers so they're changing too.

Re: Hello From both of us
Welcome to the forum Chris, your M looks awsome
a few of us on here are waiting delivery of ours so roll on April.
This is a great forum, loads of tips, help and advice..... Just don't listen to Jompy regarding your fairings, he knows his stuff mind you, but his taste is lacking somewhat when it comes to faired bikes, Jompy would have the only naked street fighter R1M in the country if he could get his mist on one
Seriously, any questions, just ask join in the banter and have a laugh, oh and most of all...... Enjoy your M
The guys have a trackday organised at Donington on the 24th March, about 20 members will be on track and a few of us are going to watch, you are welcome to join us and see what a track day is like from a spectators point of view. A couple of our guys are racers and they love nothing more than teaching new riders about the track, Pete aka PJC and Jeff aka hash have taken many of us out in the novice group to pass on their priceless experiance .... And that's what this forum is about, helping each other out
So welcome
Stephen

Thanks for the welcome everyone,
The forum track days sound good, definitely up for it.
Jompy I'm just going to have to remember to keep you away from my fairing.
I'll be in touch about the track days soon.
Thanks everyone.
